Qualifications

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or maintenance setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining heavy equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for equipment operation.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operates specialized light to heavy duty equipment such as backhoe, front-end loader, water truck, and other equipment used in maintenance and repair of county roads.
• Performs duties related to street, road and right-of-way maintenance.
• Performs routine maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment and reports issues to the shop.
• Performs as a flagger to ensure safety while working on highways when assigned.
• Adheres to safety protocols to protect self, coworkers and the public.
