Job summary

Sweetwater County is seeking a skilled equipment operator for its public works team in Wyoming. Under general supervision, you will operate a wide range of machinery including graders, scrapers, dozers, rollers, milling machines, backhoes, excavators, mowers, and loaders.

You will assist with equipment maintenance, street and bridge work, snow removal, and related construction tasks. The role supports road safety and infrastructure with hands-on operation and field repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Comfort working in a field/public works environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy and other equipment such as graders, scrapers, dozers, rollers, milling machines, backhoes, excavators, loaders, snowplows, sanders.
• Operates dump trucks and lowboys; plows snow and handles street cleaning.
• Maintains and repairs equipment; assists with shop maintenance and inspections.
• Patches holes, installs signs, culverts, snow fences, and replaces road structures as needed.
