Position Purpose

This position involves skilled work operating medium and specialized equipment in the Environmental Services division, focusing on construction, maintenance, and repair projects.

Major Duties

1. Operate medium equipment for construction responsibilities.
2. Service and perform minor repairs on equipment.
3. Perform related operational duties as assigned.
4. Operate heavy equipment as a trainee.
5. Other related duties as assigned.

Guidelines

Work is guided by city and department policies, OSHA standards, and federal, state, and local regulations, which are generally clear but may require interpretation.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the necessary skills and knowledge.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

• Work is performed at field sites involving standing, walking, bending, and crouching.
• Exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, dust, chemicals, and machinery.
