Summary of Position

Under immediate supervision, performs skilled work operating light to heavy equipment used for excavating, loading, transferring, or moving dirt, gravel, or other materials in the maintenance or construction of drainage, streets, brush collection, brush chipping, and mowing of City Right of Ways. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff. Operates light equipment and may include driving trucks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent, with at least one year of experience operating light equipment;
• Or sufficient education to read and write, plus at least two years of experience operating light equipment;
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications

• State of Texas Class B (commercial) driver's license with air brakes required;
• Class A (commercial) driver’s license desirable.

Additional Details

• Starting Pay: $19.11/hour
