Job description

Summary:

The Powered Industrial Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned electric-powered material handling equipment, including but not limited to: Sit Down Forklift, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Pallet Jack, Pallet Stacker, and Pallet Jack, to support all facets of a high-volume distribution center.

Essential Functions:

1. Follow all safety rules to maintain personal safety and the safety of others, including maintaining clean work areas.
2. Operate electric-powered sit-down forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and pallet jacks in compliance with all OSHA regulations.
3. Load, unload, retrieve, stack, and store products in a neat, safe, and productive manner.
4. Transport products or supplies to designated areas to support operational needs.
5. Use pallet wrapping machinery, floor scales, RF equipment, automated dock equipment, and company-issued utility knives.
6. Perform Forklift Operator Daily Checklists on assigned equipment.
7. Communicate and report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to a supervisor immediately.
8. Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
9. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to support operations.
10. Work daily overtime including weekends.
11. Basic math skills for quick and accurate counting, addition, and subtraction.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum one year of experience in the safe and competent operation of powered industrial trucks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to pass the Reader Link Powered Industrial Truck Safety & Certification training course to obtain a license valid for three years.
3. Basic computer skills with WMS, RF, and scanning experience.
4. Physical requirements include standing and walking for 8-10 hours, repetitive reaching, pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs, lifting up to 75 lbs, working at heights up to 20 ft., and performing repetitive foot movements.
