Under supervision, the employee performs semi-skilled maintenance work on city infrastructure, including streets, sewer, stormwater, parks, and construction projects. This role does not have supervisory duties.

Responsibilities in Emergency Situations:

• Essential employees may be required to work during emergencies, possibly around the clock.
• Non-essential employees will be informed by their department head when required to work.

Key duties include operating various equipment, constructing and repairing streets and sidewalks, cleaning sewer pipes, assisting with canal maintenance, performing after-hours service, inspecting equipment, and participating in on-call duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of municipal infrastructure.
• Skilled in operating maintenance tools and equipment safely.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and respond to emergencies.
• Capable of following instructions and recognizing safety issues.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of equipment operation experience.
• Must pass DOT drug/alcohol testing.
• Must obtain a Florida Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement within 12 months.
• Obtain Intermediate MOT certification within 12 months.

Physical Activities: The role involves physical activities such as climbing, crawling, lifting, operating machinery, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment: Outside, subject to weather, terrain, and exposure to chemicals or pathogens. Flexibility to work after hours, nights, weekends, and during emergencies is required.
