JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Equipment Operator/Drain Layer to serve our clients by expertly servicing, repairing, and replacing sewer and water services.

JOB DUTIES

• Perform water and sewer line repair, replacement, and installation, including excavation, trenchless methods, and slab penetration.
• Locate problems using specialized equipment and mark digging sites for repairs.
• Excavate trenches and remove concrete manually or with machinery such as excavators and loaders.
• Install or repair sewer and water service lines for private properties.
• Operate sewer cleaning equipment, including power rodders and high-velocity water jets.
• Service and make minor repairs to equipment and attachments.
• Inspect pipes for issues like mud, roots, and grease deposits indicating blockages or damage.
• Clean, jet, and cable building drains and sewers.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
• Install rotary knives on cables based on pipe diameters.
• Tap mainline sewers to install saddles.
• Backfill and restore excavations, ensuring safety and property respect.
• Comply with OSHA trenching safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain a courteous demeanor with customers and colleagues.
• Keep company vehicle clean and organized.
• Respect customer property at all times.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• At least 2 years of verifiable excavation and drain cleaning experience in residential service and maintenance.
• Ability to obtain journeyman drain layer certification.
• Confined space and competent person certifications.
• Willingness to acquire a Class A license with endorsements within 90 days.
• Extensive excavation knowledge.
• Understanding of plumbing practices, tools, and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
