Equipment Operator - Mid-Shift - $18.00/hour
Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Occasional Saturdays

Qualified candidates will be responsible for receiving books and products from publishers, comparing bills of lading to delivered products, accurately counting and measuring products, and entering information into the computerized inventory system.

What you will do:

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues to maintenance.
  • Maintain equipment batteries by checking water levels and connecting to charging stations.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage locations.
  • Stack and store merchandise efficiently in designated areas.
  • Pull and prepare products for picking and shipping, ensuring accuracy in quantity and type.
  • Operate forklifts and other lifting devices to move pallets, skids, and boxes.
  • Keep accurate records to maintain inventory control and security.
  • Load and unload products onto/from pallets and skids.
  • Move materials within the warehouse to designated areas.
  • Operate RF scanners approximately 90% of the time.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety, maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Operate equipment in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Stock boxes by size on the line as needed.

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • Prior equipment operating experience.
  • The ability to stand for up to 8 hours and walk for up to an hour.
  • No fear of heights.
  • Occasional climbing and pushing/pulling weights between 11-25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling weights between 36-50 pounds.
  • Ability to carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Occasional repetitive foot movement and frequent hand/arm movements for reaching and grasping.
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic math skills, including calculations of area, circumference, and volume, and applying algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Work environment details:

  • Warehouse setting with exposure to vibrations, dust, and moving machinery.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
