This position requires a Class A or B CDL and involves various responsibilities across different divisions:

  1. Environmental Services Division: Recycling duties on the back of recycling trucks, on-call overtime during winter.
  2. Streets Division: Operating equipment, street maintenance, snow plowing, repairs, hazard removal, and emergency response.
  3. Environmental Services Division: Solid waste collection, special collections, and record keeping.
  4. Forestry and Parks Maintenance: Tree care, park maintenance, equipment installation, and facility upkeep.

All divisions require physical labor, safety awareness, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and effective communication. The role demands physical strength, the ability to work in extreme conditions, and a valid Michigan driver's license with a CDL B endorsement.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of experience or equivalent training, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. Background checks and drug screenings are mandatory.
