Job summary

P&K Stone LLC in Texas is seeking a Loader/Equipment Operator to join our team. The role requires operating heavy mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, and haul trucks, with emphasis on safety and pre/post-shift inspections.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience, can read and speak English, and is able to work a scheduled shift from 5 AM to 4 PM with overtime and weekend availability. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must complete pre-shift inspection reports.
• Ability to work scheduled shift hours (5 AM to 4 PM) and be flexible with scheduling, overtime and weekends.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to communicate with others via a two-way radio.
• Must wear all required safety equipment on site.
• Ability to perform duties in a safe manner.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges.
• Ability to work in a TEAM environment.

Responsibilities

• All Equipment Operators are responsible for daily pre and post-shift inspections on equipment, and for operating the equipment safely.
• The Equipment Operator has the responsibility of being able to operate all mobile and heavy-duty equipment on site (dozers, loaders, haul truck, etc.)
• Will perform clean-up work as necessary to keep tools, equipment, and working areas clean, orderly and safe.
• Must comply with company safety rules and regulations
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be multi-diversified in performing other related duties such as maintenance/repair, and yard loading when needed
• Ability to understand, interpret, and execute instructions given in both verbal and written form
• Recognize potentially hazardous situations
• Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulations
• Must wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Maintain good customer relationships while delivering exceptional customer service by acknowledging and greeting everyone who comes on site.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Must be willing to handle continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
• Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls.
• Exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate to employees/visitors, as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
• Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
• Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls
