Chaney Enterprises in Carson, VA is seeking an Equipment Operator — Aggregates to support mining and aggregate production. You will safely operate heavy equipment and maintain material flow throughout the production cycle.
Responsibilities include daily inspections, coordinating with dispatch, and ensuring safety compliance and environmental standards. A high school diploma is preferred; strong communication and willingness to work outdoors are essential.

Non-Exempt (Eligible for Overtime) — This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, meaning the incumbent is entitled to overtime pay at the applicable rate for all hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek.
Full-time; 50 hours per week; schedule as assigned
This position carries no supervisory responsibility.
The Equipment Operator — Aggregates is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various heavy equipment in support of mining and aggregate production activities. This position plays a critical role in maintaining material flow throughout the production cycle, from raw extraction through processing and loading. The incumbent ensures that equipment, materials, and the plant site are maintained in a safe, clean, and compliant condition at all times. This role contributes directly to operational throughput, regulatory compliance, and the overall safety culture of the organization.
The following duties are considered essential functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned.
No minimum formal education requirement. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
Primarily outdoor and field-based; minimal time in enclosed or climate-controlled environments.
Regular exposure to dust and airborne particulates inherent to aggregate mining and processing operations.
Exposure to fumes and offensive smells associated with heavy equipment operation and aggregate processing.
Routine exposure to fuels, greases, lubricants, and related equipment maintenance chemicals.
Consistent close proximity to active conveyor systems, processing equipment, and heavy machinery.
