Job description

Equipment Operator - Aggregate Experienced

Join Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. as an Equipment Operator - Aggregate Experienced.

Responsibilities include:

1. Operating heavy, material-moving construction equipment safely and efficiently.
2. Performing field engineering, welding, fabrication, and major repairs of plant equipment with the plant operator.
3. Following GOH/MSHA safety practices and procedures.
4. Conducting pre and post-shift inspections of plant and equipment.
5. Working effectively as part of a team.
6. Utilizing small hand and power tools, torches, and welding equipment.
7. Rebuilding crushers and screens, including bearings, brass, and wear parts.
8. Maintaining proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
9. Traveling to other job sites if required.
10. Working over 40 hours per week, including nights, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays.
11. Performing additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
12. Assisting with plant maintenance and housekeeping tasks.

Essential functions include:

• Operating heavy equipment for aggregate movement.
• Performing repairs and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Following safety regulations.
• Inspecting equipment.
• Working as a team member.

Knowledge of:

• Safe operation of mobile equipment and understanding of MSHA regulations.

Ability to:

• Operate light equipment like skid steers and water trucks.
• Use cutting torches and welding equipment skillfully.
• Identify problems and hazards, and assist in repairs.
• Communicate effectively.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; heavy equipment operation certification preferred.

Experience may qualify applicants for different levels (1-4).

Physical requirements include: Ability to sit, climb, wear PPE, work in field conditions, shovel, walk on uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 pounds.
