GEORGIA RECREATION AND PARK ASSOCIATION INC seeks an Equipment Operator I to support Parks & Rec maintenance and construction projects in Georgia. You will operate trucks and heavy equipment, perform routine inspections, load materials, and assist with site safety and material handling.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and two years of equipment operation experience; a valid Georgia driver's license is required, with a Class B CDL preferred.
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I - P&R
The purpose of this classification is to drive/operate equipment in support of Parks & Recreation maintenance and construction projects. Work involves loading and unloading materials at work sites; and operating equipment and vehicles for assigned project tasks. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level operator, foreman, or supervisor who closely monitors and inspects work while in progress and upon completion.
Tasks require the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, or traffic hazards.
