Vulcan Materials Company seeks a skilled heavy equipment operator to join our facility team in California. You will operate loaders, excavators, dozers, and related equipment to load, haul, and stockpile aggregate products, while following all safety and quality procedures.
Responsibilities include performing pre/post-shift inspections, reporting maintenance needs, assisting with minor repairs, and ensuring accurate loading and delivery documentation.
This position’s primary responsibilities include the operation of off-highway equipment within the facility. Operation of pit loader to load raw or finished products into off-road haul trucks. Operation of shipping loader to load products into customer trucks. Operation of excavators and dozers in the removal of overburden in preparation for the extraction process. Operation of a dozer or other grading equipment to maintain facility roadways and/or maintain stockpiles. Operate other production and support equipment such as; rock breaker, cranes, drag lines, etc. Safely drives and maneuvers vehicle into position for loading, dumping and spreading material. Assists in stockpiling materials at plant and stockpile area and hauls other material as required. Inspects vehicle’s mechanisms and monitors and maintains fluid levels. Assists mechanic with minor service and repairs to equipment. Candidate will be responsible for performing general repairs to all machinery, mechanical equipment and performs general maintenance work in and around the plant. Makes a variety of repairs of a general or ordinary nature in and around the plant and notifies the plant manager of any intricate or complicated repairs.
The base hourly range for this role is between $35.89 - $42.31 per hour. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
