Job summary

Eagle Eye Electric, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator to work in Papillion, NE. The role requires operating large excavators, dozers, loaders, and rollers on levee repair and riprap placement projects, with emphasis on safety and adherence to project specifications.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in USACE levee projects, a valid 10-hour OSHA course, and the ability to read utility locate marks and field sketches.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of levee repair and levee construction experience on USACE projects.
  • 2+ years of riprap placement experience on USACE projects.
  • 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety Course completed.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment ( excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers ).
  • Ability to read and interpret utility locate marks and field sketches.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large excavators, dozers, sheepsfoot rollers, articulated trucks, and front-end loaders.
  • Perform laborer duties as needed.
  • Maintain a safe work area and good housekeeping.
  • Coordinate with Project Support staff (QCM, SSHO, Superintendent, surveyors).
  • Represent the Employer with government oversight personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operator to operate large excavators, dozers, sheepsfoot rollers, articulated trucks, and front-end loaders.
  • As necessary perform the duties of a Laborer.
  • Maintain a safe work area.
  • Communicate and work with the Project Support staff - QCM, SSHO, Superintendent, and surveyors.
  • Communicate and professionally represent the Employer with government oversight personnel.
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: None
  • Level of Experience Requirements:
    • 2+ years of demonstratable experience on levee repair, and levee construction in USACE projects.
    • 2+ years of demonstratable experience working riprap placement projects for USACE.
  • Has completed a 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety Course.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
    • Experience of operating heavy equipment; such as, excavators, dozers, front end loaders, and rollers to cut and restore river/creek banks at prescribed depths.
    • Ability to use GPS enabled heavy equipment.
    • Ability to plan the excavation and/or restoration of levees and maintain efficiency and a safe work area.
    • Ability to read and interpret utility locate marks, field sketches and other work documents related to the areas being excavated.
    • Ability to complete and file paperwork in an organized and legible form.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Setting: The job is performed in an outdoor setting with exposure to all weather conditions - rain, snow, cold and hot temperatures. Requires an extensive amount of driving during each shift.

Schedule and Flexibility

The work schedule will require working more than 8-hours per shift, nominally working Monday through Friday, work on weekends will be occasionally required, weather depending.

Other Pertinent Work Details

The job requires the use of smart phones, cameras, tablets, GPS equipment in the field. The use of personal protective equipment is required - hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes, safety vests, hearing protection, etc.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
