Job summary

Bay County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to support roadwork and maintenance. The role involves operating ten-wheel trucks, loaders, backhoes, and related machinery, with responsibilities for material placement and routine servicing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operates ten-wheel trucks; operates tractor with front-end loader and backhoe.
  • Picks up, spots, and places materials where indicated by supervisor.
  • Operates truck carrying fuel, lubricants and lubricating equipment, performs routine field lubrication of light, medium, and heavy rolling stock and equipment.
  • Operates roller in patching County roads.
  • Performs daily safety inspections of assigned equipment prior to and after use; performs routine service and maintenance.
  • Operates a simple flatbed or dump truck, or a variety of minor powered machinery and equipment; and participates generally in the laboring work of the crew as workload demands, as needed.

This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of 10-25lbs, and up to 100lbs on occasion.WORK LOCATION:Not Eligible for Remote Work - This position is assigned to a county worksite.
