You must maintain active certifications and a valid driver’s license, comply with safety standards, and perform routine equipment inspections to ensure efficient project execution.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 – Construction certification is required.
  • Active hoisting engineer license and rough terrain certification required.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to follow instructions with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operates vehicles such as a telehandler, crane, and forklift as part of masonry projects.
  • Assists with material handling, site prep and transporting masonry supplies.
  • Stages materials and maintains access to job sites for crews.
  • Reads loading charts inside machines to ensure proper load limits.
  • Operates power tools including mixers and performs routine maintenance.
  • Participates in demolition efforts when required.
  • Conducts daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Removes obstacles and hazards to maintain safety on site.
  • Adheres to all company, local, state, and federal safety standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Foreman.

Position Summary:

Equipment Operators are responsible for safely operating heavy machinery and equipment to complete commercial masonry projects. This position is responsible for using heavy equipment to install masonry systems such as block, brick, stone, precast, and granite. The Equipment Operator is critical to ensure project operations proceed smoothly and efficiently in the field. Equipment Operators are responsible for adhering to state, federal, and company safety standards and ensuring they possess and maintain active licensure to operate necessary equipment and vehicles.

Position Description:
  • Operates vehicles such as a telehandler – a versatile multipurpose machine combining the capabilities of a crane and a forklift.
  • Assists with material handling, site preparation, and transportation of masonry supplies.
  • Provides support to crews by staging materials and maintaining access to job sites.
  • Capable of reading loading chart inside machines.
  • Operate power tools including but not limited to mixers.
  • Participates in demolition efforts on job sites as needed.
  • Perform inspections of equipment daily and routine maintenance.
  • Removes obstacles and hazards on job sites to ensure safety.
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal safety standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Foreman.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possess an OSHA 10 – Construction certification.
  • Possess an active hoisting engineer license and rough terrain certification.
  • Possess a valid and unexpired driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to follow instructions and possess a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:

The information described here includes but is not limited to general physical requirements and environmental working conditions. This information is based on what an individual working as a Equipment Operator may reasonably expect to encounter during their daily work. As a result, Equipment Operators must be able to meet the following requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, move (push/pull), and carry up to 50 pounds alone.
  • Must be able to lift, move (push/pull), and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work at night when needed.
