Job summary

APTIM is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate excavator, off-road truck, skid loader, man lift, and boom forklift fusion machines for HDPE piping at landfill projects.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong safety, communication, and teamwork skills. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Operates excavators, skid steers, and lifts per project instructions.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains equipment.
• Reads drawings and measures materials for installation.
• Maintains and repairs machinery as needed.

• Connect sections of pipe using HDPE welding machines and PVC pipe with glue and primer.
• Maintain and adjust machinery for proper performance.
• Operate off-road trucks and excavators on side slopes.
• Measure materials for installation or assembly.
• Mix substances needed for work activities.
• Repair or replace defective parts of machinery such as rotary drill rigs, water trucks, air compressors, and pumps.

As an equipment Operator with APTIM, you will operate excavator, off road truck skid loader, man lift and extend a boom forklift fusion machines for installation of HDPE piping at the landfills we do our projects on.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Read and follow drawing sets to complete tasks on the project site.
• Follow all maintenance and safety procedures.
• Connect sections of pipe, using HDPE welding machines and PVC pipe with Glue and primer.
• Maintain and adjust machinery to ensure proper performance.
• Operate off road trucks and excavators on side slopes.
• Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly.
• Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities.
• Repair or replace defective parts of machinery, such as rotary drill rigs, water trucks, air compressors, and pumps using hand tools.
• Install well heads and valves

Basic Qualifications

• Proficiently operates hand and foot levers to insure proper operation of assigned equipment.
• Strong knowledge of safely operating assigned equipment.
• Uses time effectively; anticipates obstacles, adjusts priorities as needs change and keeps others informed of progress.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, be self‑motivated, and be adaptable in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline‑driven environment.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience being an Equipment Operator
• A valid driver’s license and clear driving record are required, as driving is an essential function of this role.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $23.75- $32 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
