Job summary

APTIM has an opening for an Evaporator Operator at a landfill/natural gas leachate evaporation plant in Honea Path, SC. You will handle day-to-day plant operations, monitor control systems, and ensure safety requirements while coordinating with Operations and Project Management.

The role requires mechanical and electrical knowledge, ability to lift and work outdoors in all weather, and willingness to travel for training or coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel for training and coverage at other facilities as needed.
• Mechanical and electrical knowledge applicable to plant systems.
• Able to perform a 7 day on-call rotation.
• Computer literate and able to use recording/automation equipment.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret procedures and troubleshoot equipment.
• Maintain records manually or by computer methods.
• Calibration checks of scale accuracy at shift start.

Job description

Job Overview

APTIM have an opening for an Evaporator Operator for a landfill/ natural gas leachate evaporation plant. Operator will work on the day-to-day operations, will work with the daily, weekly, and monthly APTIM safety requirements, working remotely from Operations and Project Management. Applicant will also be on call for the plant to achieve maximum runtime and production.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Responsible for the mechanical and electrical systems portion of the plant.
• Monitors and operates process control equipment, including valving, packaging, and engineering.
• Interprets plant procedures.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
• Develops and maintains records, either manually or by computer methods.
• Perform calibration check of scale accuracy at the beginning of each work shift.
• Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Day to day plant operations
• Daily Health and Safety observation
• Daily/monthly record keeping

Basic Qualifications

• Must be able to lift heavy objects and work outside in different types of weather (hot or cold & rain)
• Must be willing to travel for training and vacation coverage at other facilities as needed
• Mechanical/Electrical Knowledge
• Must be able to do a 7 day on-call rotation
• Computer literate
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $27- $32 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
