Job summary

EMR USA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Houston, TX team. You will operate material handler (Grapple) and excavators to move and process metal, perform daily inspections, and follow safety protocols.

This hands-on role requires at least 2 years of crane or heavy equipment experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and comfort working outdoors in all weather. PTO, benefits, and training are included.

Qualifications

• Two years of material handling and excavator experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Background check, physical and drug screening required.

What You'll Do:

• Operate material handler (Grapple) and excavators to move and process metal
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment

What We're Looking For:

• 2 years of previous experience with material handling and excavators
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and ability to multitask
• Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening

Required Skills & Abilities

• OSHA or safety certification preferred (not required)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with scrap metal materials and commodities is a plus
• Ability to perform all physical, mental, and environmental job functions
• Comfort working in all weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
• Strong time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2+ years of consecutive crane operating experience required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind)
• May be exposed to moving mechanical equipment and heavy industrial activity
• Noise levels may be high; hearing protection is required
• Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and physical movement required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Work may include confined spaces and other industrial conditions requiring PPE
