A leading county agency is looking for Equipment Operators – Truck Drivers to maintain roads, operate heavy machinery, and handle snow removal. Ideal candidates have experience with diverse equipment and possess a valid Class A CDL. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, paid holidays, and pension plans. The Genesee County Road Commission is accepting resumes for Equipment Operators – Truck Drivers who operate various vehicles and equipment (medium to heavy equipment) normally associated with the maintenance of roads, rights of way and bridges. Vehicles will be used to haul different materials including gravel, earth and broken pavement. Equipment Operators plow snow and ice from roads and use trucks with under blades to keep shoulders of paved roads smooth and even with the edge of pavement. Equipment Operators haul snow, salt roads and haul and spread chloride. Sweepers, Vac Alls, loaders three yards or less, road graders, wreckers, large loaders, should machines, cranes, gradalls and pothole patching machines are normal pieces of equipment that will be operated. It is expected that Equipment Operators will perform the manual labor that is normally associated with maintaining County roadways and rights-of-way, roadside parks and state trunk lines, including installation and repair of signs in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Will perform a variety of tasks including snow removal, pothole patching, tree removal, guardrail repair and other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience required operating the following equipment: Grader, Excavator, Front-End Loader, Backhoe, Gradall and Tandem Axle Dump Truck with snowplow. Applicants must possess a Class A CDL with “N” endorsement, a high school diploma/GED and a valid Michigan Driver’s License. A current driving record (a request date from June 5, 2025, through June 23, 2025) MUST be submitted to be considered.
Hourly rate of pay is: $23.05 per hour, with comprehensive benefit package included, but not limited to Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, paid holidays and vacation, pension and deferred compensation. Please email resume to
