As the Equipment Operator - Matting Solutions, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will be required to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.


Formerly YAK ACCESS, Matting Solutions is now part of the United Rentals Team and is one of North America's leading providers of right-of-way access solutions. We serve pipelines, power lines, civil projects, and more, offering expertise in access planning, clearing, site work, and restoration services.


What you'll do:
  1. Perform safety and maintenance checks, including pre- and post-equipment inspections with documentation, in compliance with company policies.
  2. Participate in routine maintenance such as greasing and ensure equipment is safely stored.
  3. Communicate effectively with site personnel and practice workplace safety.
  4. Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  5. Maintain logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
  6. Understand ground signals and maintain eye contact with ground personnel.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write fluently in English.
  2. Valid driver's license.
  3. 0-1 year of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment on large construction projects.
  4. Ability to operate equipment independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Knowledge of safety hazards and inspection techniques in construction.
  6. Skill in reading and interpreting access and construction plans.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Willingness to travel out of town during the week or weekends, with extensive overtime.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals' policies.
