Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Tulsa, OK, seeks an Equipment Mechanic to provide routine and non-routine maintenance for our fleet of construction machinery. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs per manufacturer specs to keep operations running smoothly.

You will diagnose issues, troubleshoot on-site or by phone, document work, order parts, and ensure accurate data entry. The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and strong communication with field teams.

Qualifications

• Apprentice program or vocational training preferred.

Role Summary

The Equipment Mechanic will provide routine and non‑routine maintenance support to the day‑to‑day Blue Hat Equipment operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment as per manufacturer's specifications. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnostic equipment inspections, and repair operations on breakdowns for construction equipment per manufacturer’s specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns on site or via the phone using effective communications skills with field operations.
• Document and data entry for completed maintenance and repairs.
• Communicate timely with internal and external business partners via phone and email regarding maintenance.
• Order parts for equipment repair using the work order system based on manufacturer requirements and specifications.
• Receive, organize, store, and distribute equipment parts and supplies.

• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to learn the operating/accounting system for data entry.

• Ability to provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with customers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance operations including engine oil changes, hydraulic pump and cylinder functions, diesel engine operations, basic electrical functions.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.

Education

• High School/GED or equivalent (Required).
• Apprentice Program or Vocational training on equipment repair (Preferred).
• In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

• 2+ years mechanic or maintenance operations (Preferred).

Working Environment

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Typically travel is not required.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
• Frequent activity: Standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
• Occasional activity: Sitting, viewing computer screen.
