Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to provide routine and non-routine maintenance support for Blue Hat Equipment operations. You will maintain and repair equipment per manufacturer specifications, documenting work and communicating with field operations.

This role requires strong trouble-shooting, data-entry accuracy, and teamwork in a safety-conscious construction environment. Base compensation ranges with a potential bonus based on performance are noted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; apprentice or vocational training preferred.
• Experience or training in automotive or construction equipment maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to learn operating/accounting systems and document maintenance activities accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and diagnostics on construction equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns on-site or by phone with clear communication to field operations.
• Accurately document and enter data for completed maintenance and repairs.
• Communicate timely with internal and external partners by phone and email regarding maintenance questions.
• Order parts using the work order system and verify manufacturer requirements.
• Receive, organize, store, and distribute equipment parts and supplies.

Role Summary

The Equipment Mechanic will provide routine and non-routine maintenance support to the day-to-day Blue Hat Equipment operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment as per manufacturer’s specification. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Performs routine preventative maintenance, diagnostic equipment inspections, and repair operations on breakdowns for construction equipment per manufacturer’s specifications.
• Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns on site or via the phone using effective communications skills with field operations.
• Responsible for the accurate documentation and data entry for completed maintenance and repairs.
• Responsible for timely communication to internal and external business partners through phone calls and responding to emails for maintenance related questions.
• Orders parts for equipment repair using the work order system by determining manufacturer requirements and specifications.
• Receives, organizes, stores, and distributes equipment parts and supplies.

• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner

Education

• High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
• Apprentice Program or Vocational training on equipment repair (Preferred)
• In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered

Experience

• 2+ years mechanic or maintenance operations (Preferred)

Working Environment

• Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
• Typically travel is not required
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
• Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling
• Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen

Benefits Information

The benefits package aligned to this position is Skilled Trade Non Union.

Base compensation for the Equipment Mechanic role in US-CO is between $73,000 and $90,000, depending on experience, and may be more than this range for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive a target bonus based on both individual and company performance.
