What You’ll Do
Strategic Category Management
  • Lead the management of a third-party procurement organization responsible for the day-to-day execution of operational and miscellaneous supply categories.
  • Develop and execute category strategies focused on improving cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, and overall value.
  • Lead supplier meetings, quarterly business reviews, initiative prioritization, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Drive collaboration and communication across McDonald’s, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment, accountability, and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and monitor cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations related to equipment and category changes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate category pricing reporting and provide pricing projections to Finance as needed.
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with Global, Home Office, Field, third-party supply chain partners, and Operator leadership.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to leadership regarding new initiatives, recommendations, and concepts.
  • Support the development and deployment of Field communications as needed.
  • Define, align, execute, and communicate key research initiatives in support of category objectives.
Supplier Excellence
  • Establish and monitor supplier performance measures, KPIs, and Reward for Excellence targets.
  • Develop and maintain competitive validation reporting.
  • Review and monitor supplier contingency and business continuity plans.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for teams requiring guidance or support related to assigned categories.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with national suppliers, Field partners, third-party supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote supplier accountability, continuous improvement, and strong overall performance.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 5–8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or a related function.
  • Working knowledge of procurement best practices, including supplier negotiation, selection, evaluation, management, and development.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing supplier relationships and category strategies.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate opportunities, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex information and recommendations clearly and concisely to leadership.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience with or knowledge of IT systems and technology is a plus.
  • Restaurant equipment knowledge (ovens, prep tables, etc.)
You’ll Thrive Here If…
  • You’re a self-starter who takes ownership, identifies what needs to be done, and moves work forward.
  • You enjoy building relationships and know how to establish trust with internal teams, suppliers, third-party partners, and leadership.
  • You’re comfortable influencing without direct authority and bringing different perspectives together around a common goal.
  • You can balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.
  • You’re naturally curious and ask thoughtful questions to better understand challenges, uncover opportunities, and find solutions.
  • You enjoy working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where priorities can evolve.
  • You use data and business insights to solve problems and make thoughtful recommendations.
  • You communicate clearly and can tailor your message to a variety of audiences, from suppliers and cross-functional partners to senior leadership.

  • You’re energized by continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to make processes, partnerships, and results better.
Why This Role
