Job Summary

Constructors is looking for a high performing, results-oriented Equipment Manager to join our team. This person will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and executing equipment activities in support of all shop and field operations. Works with shop personnel to ensure inventory of parts on hand and mechanics are supplied with parts and supplies needed for repair and maintenance work of vehicles and heavy equipment. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides shop leadership and management of equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project needs.

Ensures equipment safety and quality performance through personal example as well as supervision activities.

Controls and tracks all aspects of equipment cost, records and tracks equipment maintenance and utilization, provides senior management with equipment recap reports as needed.

Accountable for the training, development, coaching and morale of direct and indirect reports.

Accountable for the retention and engagement of direct and indirect reports.

Accountable for developing and maintaining team cohesion, coordinates and delegates tasks to shop personnel.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
  • Degree in diesel technology, mechanical engineering, construction management or related field of study; and
  • 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment or mechanically related field; or
  • equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under company insurance.
Other Skills & Abilities
  • Must have knowledge of heavy equipment and on-highway trucks.
  • Must have knowledge of construction safety and requirements.
  • Must be flexible regarding work assignments.
  • Must demonstrate willingness to perform other support duties during non busy times.
  • Must provide own tools of the trade.
  • Must be able to work within fast paced shop/office and field environment.
  • Must be willing and able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to operate with minimal supervision, be a trouble shooter and take initiative to investigate and resolve problems.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. Work is commonly performed in a parts/warehouse/shop area. Plant and field environment with exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, and chemicals. This is a tobacco free facility and campus.
