A Day in the Life

As an Equipment MaintenanceTechnician III in Manufacturing at Medtronic’s Danvers, MA facility, you will play a critical role in supporting life-saving and life-enhancing medical technologies. Join a mission-driven team that values innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. In this role you will gain experience with extrusion manufacturing processes and equipment, supporting the manufacturing of various extrusion tubing’s. You will be a key member of the engineering and technician team, ensuring optimal equipment performance to support daily production as well as driving improvements to support manufacturing stability.

As a key member of the site’s technical team, you will:

  • Perform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of semi-automated manufacturing equipment in a cleanroom and controlled environment.
  • Lead complex equipment/fixturing repairs, upgrades, and validations in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
  • Log and analyze recurring equipment issues using root cause analysis and support implementation of long-term solutions.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and product quality.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints.
  • Provide mentorship to junior technicians and help ensure knowledge sharing across shifts.
  • Complete documentation in compliance with FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adhere to safety procedures/standards.
  • Work cross-functionally to support process improvement initiatives, line reconfigurations, and new equipment installations.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts.

Must Have – Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other FDA-regulated industries
  • Experience maintaining plastics processing equipment (extrusion)
  • Understanding of equipment wiring schematics
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, GMP, and validation protocols
  • Knowledge of PLCs, servo systems, robotics, and vision inspection systems
  • Understanding of cleanroom protocols and ESD handling
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$57,200.00 - $85,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
