Job summary

Feralloy Corporation, a leading steel processing company, is hiring for 1st shift maintenance at our Huger, SC site. You will support maintenance operations to run conveyors, engines, and production equipment, performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Required: at least 2 years in maintenance, basic mechanical or electrical knowledge, ability to read blueprints, and work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge.
• Familiar with machine operations.
• Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
• Experience in maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, blueprints, and layout drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance manager with maintenance tasks and support overall maintenance operations.
• Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) systems and help implement and maintain preventive maintenance measures.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate sources of problems by observing equipment, listening for issues, and using measuring and testing instruments.
• Repair and replace defective parts by dismantling devices using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
• Inspect parts to determine dimensional changes using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and adjust functional components as needed.
• Maintain and complete all necessary paperwork and log information into maintenance software.

Pay Range: $34.00 - $45.00 per hour (Based on Experience and Onsite Interview)

Job Function

• Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) systems and help implement and maintain preventive maintenance measures
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate sources of problems by observing equipment, listening for issues, and using measuring and testing instruments
• Repair and replace defective parts by dismantling devices using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes
• Inspect parts to determine dimensional changes using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and adjust functional components as needed
• Perform general building maintenance tasks as required
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment
• Maintain and complete all necessary paperwork and log information into maintenance software
• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and summarizing information
• Support production by helping reduce downtime and communicating preventive maintenance practices
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company procedures, rules, and regulations
