Job summary

Bloom Energy in Fremont, CA is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to keep automated manufacturing equipment in peak condition for fuel cell production. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on complex systems in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance, strong mechanical skills, and experience with pneumatics, vacuum, electrical up to 480VAC, and VFDs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with pneumatics, vacuum systems, bearings, motors and mechanical assemblies.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480VAC.
• Experience troubleshooting VFDs, motors, sensors and encoders.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Respond quickly to equipment downtime and perform corrective repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
• Install, modify, and upgrade manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Maintain maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
• Support spare parts inventory and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices.
• Partner with production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.

15% Shift Differential for Overnight Shifts

What You'll Do

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing automated manufacturing equipment used in fuel cell production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment and production machinery

• Respond quickly to equipment downtime and perform corrective repairs

• Complete preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime

• Install, modify, and upgrade manufacturing equipment and tooling

• Maintain maintenance records, logs, and documentation

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills

• Experience with pneumatics, vacuum systems, bearings, motors, and mechanical assemblies

• Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480VAC

• Experience troubleshooting VFDs, motors, sensors, and encoder systems

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• PLC troubleshooting experience

• Experience supporting automated production equipment

• Familiarity with high-temperature manufacturing systems, furnaces, or kiln equipment

• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs.

• Stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel throughout the shift

• Work safely around manufacturing equipment and in confined areas when performing repairs
