Job description

Our quest to leave this world better than we found it would not be possible without our amazing equipment and asset controls group at our warehouse (or ware”home” as we like to call it). TRS Group, Inc. (TRS), a Parsons owned company, is in search of a qualified Equipment Maintenance and Controls Technician to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will help ensure our mechanical and electronic equipment is properly configured, maintained, cleaned and in good working order for deployment to work sites. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems.

What you will do:

Equipment Maintenance and Repair

  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions on small engines or other equipment.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, plumbing, machinery, or equipment using electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Pump troubleshooting and repair.
  • Prep, prime and paint equipment.

Instrumentation and Controls

  • Responsible for controls field box, instrumentation, security maintenance and repairs.
  • Videofied Security System and Honeywell Interlock System preparation.
  • PTZ Camera builds and preparation.
  • Preparation of Instrumentation and Controls for job sites (PIC List).
  • Organize controls area for efficient workflow.
  • Some travel to job sites for project demobilization (3-4 weeks per year).

General Warehouse Support

  • Track equipment located in the field and at the warehouse.
  • General warehouse support including forklift operation, inventory control, maintaining a clean and orderly workspace and basic janitorial duties as needed.
  • Load/unload large pieces of equipment with a forklift and occasionally help to prep for crane lift operations.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have demonstrated ability to work with common hand and power tools.
  • Have general knowledge in fabrication, welding, and blueprint reading.
  • Have demonstrated experience in forklift operation.
  • Understand basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and hydraulics.
  • Able to work in tight spaces.
  • Be computer literate and able to use MS Office tools and internal apps.
  • Have excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Be reliable, have excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Be able to understand and follow safety procedures, SOPs, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
