Job summary

Crete Carrier Corporation in Pennsylvania is seeking a Full-Time Vehicle Inspector to inspect inbound tractors and trailers, identify DOT defects, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. You will document defects in the maintenance system, communicate findings to drivers and shop personnel to coordinate repairs, and maintain positive relationships with shop staff and drivers.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) and a willingness to learn.

POSITION SUMMARY

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts thorough inspections of tractors, trailers, reefers, and tires.
• Records identified defects in the maintenance system.
• Communicates identified defects to the driver and shop personnel to administer repairs.
• Maintains positive relationships with shop staff and drivers.
• Receives and carries out instructions.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced, noisy environment around moving equipment.
• Ability to regularly lift 50lbs and occasionally lift up to 100lbs.
• Must be able to inspect vehicles to determine repairs needed.
• Good vision to inspect repair work.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

• DOT brake inspection certification as required by supervisor and/or location
