Job summary

Ovivo in Round Rock, TX, is seeking an Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for production, fabrication, and assembly of Ovivo equipment. You will work under guidance from the Product Group Manager and the sales team to ensure accurate pricing and achievable scope.

The role involves identifying cost improvements, supporting value engineering initiatives, maintaining cost data, and developing estimating models with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, Associate degree with 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years' experience in cost estimating custom-engineered/fabricated equipment.
• Experience with cost estimating for custom-engineered/fabricated equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand process schematics.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for production, fabrication and assembly of Ovivo equipment.
• Review estimates with sales and engineering to ensure scope/specs are compatible.
• Identify cost improvements or scope gaps based on proposed equipment.
• Participate in sales documentation updates to keep engineering teams informed.
• Attend Job Review (kickoff) meetings.
• Prepare "as sold" final estimates and establish estimated profit margin.
• Participate in cost reduction or value engineering initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date files of material cost and track cost trends.
• Work with product managers, engineering, buyers to develop estimating models and databases.
• Perform all work in accordance with safety procedures.

What is the role?

• Prepare cost estimates for production, fabrication and assembly of Ovivo equipment based on materials and labor using market information, product standards, reference jobs, engineering pre-design and other established guidelines.
• Review estimates with the sales and engineering to ensure that scope/specifications and estimates are compatible and achievable
• Identify potential cost improvements or scope gaps based on proposed equipment
• Participate in procedural update initiatives to sales department documentation to ensure thorough communication to engineering teams
• Attend Job Review (kickoff) meetings
• Prepare "as sold" final estimates and establish estimated profit margin
• Participate in cost reduction or value engineering initiatives
• Maintain up to date files of material cost, including communicating known or anticipated cost trends
• Work with product managers, engineering, buyers and others to develop estimating models, database and automated programs to reduce the time required to generate estimates and improve their accuracy and speed.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Does this sound like you?

• Knowledge of water and wastewater industry to include marketing, product application, equipment manufacturing, hydraulics and flow controls, construction techniques and biological process.
• Read and understand fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings, and process schematics
• Read, analyze and interpret complex industry related documents
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral to resolve complaints and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries
• Capable of making decisions using independent judgement in situation requiring the use of a single variable in standard situations
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met
