Job summary

Kiewit is offering an Equipment Engineer Intern position that provides hands-on learning across construction management, equipment planning, budgeting, and reliability improvements. You will participate in day-to-day operations and long-term planning for a robust equipment fleet, with exposure to safety, logistics, and multi-site coordination.

The internship emphasizes developing skills in planning, maintenance, and teamwork within a fast-paced construction environment at various U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, MET, Diesel, or Automotive Technology.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
• Ability to work full-time during the summer (May–August).

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Material handling and procurement.
• Logistics management and communication.
• Long/short range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Planning and paperwork for critical lifts.
• Support of maintenance technicians and inventory management.
