Trex Company in Winchester, VA seeks an Equipment Engineer I to ensure reliability, safety, and integrity of extrusion production lines. You will lead preventive maintenance, troubleshoot failures, and drive CapEx hardware improvements to maximize uptime.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 0–3 years of related experience, on-site work, and a comprehensive benefits package including holidays, health insurance, 401(k) with match, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 0–3 years of extrusion or related experience preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and procedural discipline.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with vendors to source tooling and upgrades for asset readiness.
• Investigate root causes from maintenance data and logs to fix failures.
• Drive projects to reduce downtime and boost overall uptime.
• Lead installation and optimization of hardware on extrusion lines.
• Develop SOPs and train operators on equipment features and safety.
• Coordinate with Process Engineer to align parameters and reduce wear.
• Maintain downstream equipment and material handling systems.
• Manage critical utilities to keep extrusion lines running smoothly.
• Design and execute PM programs to minimize unplanned downtime.
