Job summary

Lumentum in San Jose, CA is seeking a Wafer Fab Equipment Engineer to own one or more tool sets in a wafer fab. You will ensure high tool availability, write PMs and work instructions, and lead upgrades while driving reliability, yield and cost improvements in a demanding cleanroom environment.

You will analyze performance metrics, plan installations, and assist technicians in troubleshooting, with a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in 24/7 clean room equipment maintenance.
• Ability to generate equipment work instructions.
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Basic EH&S understanding for equipment maintenance.
• Basic electronics knowledge with schematic reading ability.
• Basic understanding of electromechanical, vacuum and pneumatics.
• Capable of leading maintenance to root cause of down equipment.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Project.

Responsibilities

• Analyze equipment performance metrics (MTBF, uptime, MTTR) to identify improvements.
• Write PM procedures, checklists, troubleshooting guides and work instructions.
• Evaluate and recommend new process equipment.
• Plan, manage and execute equipment installations or upgrades to Fab/manufacturing equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement of reliability, availability, yield and quality, including cost reduction.
• Assist maintenance technicians in troubleshooting critical down tools.
• Establish and maintain spare part BOMs for assigned equipment.

As a member of the Equipment Engineering staff, the Wafer Fab Equipment Engineer will have ownership of one or more tool sets within a wafer fab manufacturing operation. Equipment Engineers are responsible for the overall availability and performance of their assigned equipment sets in accordance with SEMI E10.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement maintenance programs to improve tool availability and reduce cost of ownership;


• Analyze equipment performance metrics (MTBF, uptime, MTTR, etc.) to determine areas for improvement;


• Write PM procedures, checklists, troubleshooting guides, and work instructions for your assigned equipment set;


• Evaluate and recommend the selection of new process equipment;


• Plan, manage and execute all assigned equipment installations or upgrades to the Fab or manufacturing equipment;


• Continuous improvement of reliability, availability, yield and quality as well as cost and scrap reduction support;


• Assists equipment maintenance technicians in the troubleshooting of critical down tools;


• Establish and maintain spare part Bill of Materials (BOMs) for assigned equipment.

Requirements

• Solid background working in Equipment Maintenance supporting a 24/7 clean room manufacturing environment


• Ability to generate equipment work instructions


• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills


• Basic understanding of Environmental, health, and and Safety requirements as related to Equipment Maintenance


• Basic understanding Electronics with the ability to read schematics


• Basic understanding of Electromechanical, Vacuum, and Pneumatics


• Can lead Equipment Maintenance in the troubleshooting to root cause of down equipment


• Strong computer skills to include Word, Excel, and Project

Pay Range:

P40-USA-1 :$87,550.00 - $125,050.00
