Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an experienced engineer to support ion implantation equipment and related process facilities in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes maintaining and upgrading implanters, collaborating with vendors, and driving continuous improvement within EHS guidelines. Ideal candidates will have a strong engineering background, 10+ years of related work, and proven ability to communicate across levels of the organization while adhering to ITAR and security requirements.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or Some College and 10+ Years of Experience.
• Previous experience in ion implantation or semiconductor equipment utilizing Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) technology; 5+ years preferred.
• Language Fluency: Fluent in English Language, written & verbal.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, energetic and self-starter.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and experience in working with external constituencies.
• Strong organizational skills along with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business need.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments. Individuals will be and must be able to understand complex automated systems and human interactions.
• Perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all information.
• Comply with current and updated policies and procedures.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities
• Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment
• Handle special assignments promptly and professionally
• Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency
• Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Working Conditions

• Semiconductor Fab type Cleanroom and Grey Room (Chase) conditions
• Strict adherence to cleanroom and safety protocols

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in a hands‑on lab environment for assigned work schedule.
• Must be able to lift weights in accordance with standard NIOSH/OSHA Limits (e.g., 35-50 pounds in real world optimum conditions).

ITAR/EAR and Other Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or protected individual).
• Compliance with all applicable export control regulations.
