Job summary

TOKYO ELECTRON AMERICA, INC. is seeking a hands-on engineer to design, procure, install and test modifications to semiconductor experimental reactors in a cleanroom environment.

You will perform electrical, mechanical and measurement assembly tasks, follow defined procedures, and develop test methods from blueprints and diagrams. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a strong mix of technical and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, procure, install, test modifications to improve performance of semiconductor experimental reactors.
• Perform a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
• Follow methods and sequence of operations in wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, welding and fitting on assembly units.
• Determine and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Assist in product enhancement and development activities related to advanced Film Deposition tools for semiconductors.
• Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data for on-line adjustments.
• Develop methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes to meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support a team environment.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions.
• Interface with external vendors on outsourced products and services.
• Handle contaminated parts with PPE to rebuild reactors when implementing new modifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
• Follow methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, welding and fitting on assembly units.
• Determine and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Assist in product enhancement and product development activities related to our advanced Film Deposition tools used in the manufacturing of semiconductors.
• Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
• Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process to establish quality standards.
• Work closely with engineers and technical to support a team environment.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
• Interface with external vendors on outsourced products and services.
• Handle contaminated parts, with appropriate PPE, to rebuilt reactors when implementing new modifications.

What to expect

• Within the first week complete on-board orientation, safety training, other company and site required training. Gain access to the cleanroom and other work areas. Become familiar with how the team communicates using tools such as MS Teams, email, and other.
• Within the first month become familiar with group goals and your role to meet those goals. Shadow both hardware and process engineers working in the cleanroom and other work areas. Pick up at least one independent activity from another team member.
• Within the first three months be working independently on several projects. Write up weekly reports on all projects including progress, gaps, budget, timelines and needed parts.

Job duties are often performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Duties also include application of proper industry safety procedures when working with dangerous elements or conditions such as chemicals, electric current or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary Ranges $78,485.94 - $110,853.80. Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
