Coastal Construction Equipment, LLC is looking for a dedicated Delivery Driver to support our Southern Florida expansion from Fort Lauderdale. You will transport, deliver, and pickup construction and heavy equipment to job sites and facilities, providing basic operating guidance and ensuring equipment safety and condition.

The role requires knowledge of DOT regulations, safe driving practices, and strong customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Complete electronic and paper delivery documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate routes, schedules, and required licenses or endorsements with supervisors.

The Coastal Construction Compact Equipment Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation, delivery, and pickup of construction and heavy equipment to and from customer locations, job sites, and company facilities. This position serves as a key customer-facing representative of the company, ensuring equipment is delivered in excellent condition, basic operational instructions are provided when appropriate, and all transportation activities comply with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement requirements, and safe transportation practices.
  • Ability to operate commercial vehicles, trailers, and equipment transport systems safely and efficiently.
  • Working knowledge of construction and heavy equipment operations.
  • Ability to inspect equipment and identify visible damage or safety concerns.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read maps, route information, delivery schedules, and transportation documents.
  • Proficiency in completing electronic and paper delivery documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing schedules or job site conditions.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance in all work activities.
Preferred Qualification(s):
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications required for equipment transportation.
  • Bilingual, English & Spanish
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Additional vocational, technical, or transportation-related training preferred.
Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate leadership through safe work practices and compliance with company policies.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the company when interacting with customers and vendors.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service excellence.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced drivers as needed.
  • Communicate transportation, equipment, and customer concerns to supervisors promptly.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Experience transporting construction, agricultural, or heavy equipment.
  • Experience operating lowboy, flatbed, or specialized equipment trailers.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar and other heavy equipment brands preferred.
  • Experience loading, unloading, and securing heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of basic equipment functions and operating procedures.
  • Experience working in construction, equipment rental, heavy equipment dealership, or transportation environments.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, skid steers, or other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Work Environment:
  • Frequent travel to customer locations, construction sites, and company facilities.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods while driving commercial vehicles.
  • Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, lifting, securing loads, and entering/exiting vehicles and equipment.
  • May be required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime based on business and customer needs.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to company safety policies, DOT regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local transportation requirements.
