Job summary

UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Equipment Coordinator to support our Operating Room. This role focuses on care, cleaning, maintenance of specialty equipment such as lasers, video towers, microscopes, and positioning supplies, and coordination of instrument trays.

You will work Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3pm, with no weekends or holidays, and no on-call. The position emphasizes collaboration with SPD, nurses, and Biomedical Engineering to ensure ready-to-use equipment

Responsibilities

• Assist with care, cleaning, and maintenance of all specialty equipment (lasers, video towers, microscopes, positioning supplies).
• Assist specialty nurses with set-up and ordering of instrument trays.
• Check daily with SPD for broken instruments and incomplete trays.
• Coordinate following days schedule for equipment utilization and provide necessary equipment to the appropriate rooms (shared resources).
• Track shared resources/equipment between OR/ASC.
• Maintain special order supplies and file away incoming orders.
• Assist with orthopedic inventory.
• Ensure equipment malfunctions are reported to Maintenance or Biomedical Engineering.
• Assist in care, cleaning/processing/retrieval and return of minimally invasive instruments between cases.

Shift Details:

• Assist with care, cleaning, and maintenance of all specialty equipment, including, but not limited to, lasers, video towers, microscopes, positioning supplies.
• Assist specialty nurses with the set-up and ordering of instrument trays.
• Check daily with SPD for broken instruments, and incomplete trays.
• Coordinate following days schedule for equipment utilization and provides necessary equipment to the appropriate rooms. (Includes video equipment, positioning equipment, cameras & telescopes and instruments all shared resources).
• Track shared resources/equipment between OR/ASC.
• Maintain special order supplies and put away order when it comes in.
• Assist with orthopedic inventory.
• Assure equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department, ie. Maintenance or Biomedical Engineering.
• Assist in care/cleaning/processing/retrieval and return of minimally invasive instruments between cases.
