Job summary

East Coast Lumber is seeking an Equipment Center Yard and Customer Service Associate in East Hampstead, NH for full-time and part-time roles. The position requires assisting customers with equipment selection, loading/unloading, and safe operation while maintaining the yard and supporting deliveries.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs, wear proper boots, work outdoors in all weather, and have good English communication. Weekend availability and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Able to lift over 50 lbs with proper technique.
• Minimum 6” work boot required (steel & composite toe optional).
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good organizational skills.
• Prior experience preferred but not required.
• Fluent reading/writing/speaking English.
• Team oriented and able to work independently.
• Available to work at least one weekend day.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selecting and loading/unloading equipment.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment to rental customers per policy.
• Interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Operate outdoor power equipment (mowers, blowers, skid steers).
• Check in and/or return repaired customer equipment.
• Inspect, clean (pressure wash) and maintain rental equipment.
• Clean and organize rental yard and storage areas (sweeping, snow removal).
• Occasionally assist shipping with deliveries to homes and jobsites.
• Support repair shop personnel with various duties.
• Operate propane refill station.

East Coast Lumber is a full-service professional lumber yard and building supply company located in East Hampstead, NH that has been family owned and operated since 1976. By supplying local builders, remodelers, and homeowners with all their building needs, we have become a preferred supplier of lumber and building materials, kitchen & bath products, builder’s hardware, millwork, and equipment sales, rentals, and service.

General Requirements:

• Applicant must be capable of lifting over 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.
• Minimum 6” work boot required ( steel & composite toe optional)
• Job requires working outdoors during all weather conditions.
• Good organizational skills.
• Prior experience preferred, but not required.
• Good communication skills, with ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and independently.
• Must be available to work at least one weekend day.
• Available and willing to work at least 1 weekend day per week and some evenings until 7pm
• Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record is required

Yard Customer Service Associated Responsibilities:

• Assisting customers with selecting and loading and unloading of Equipment.
• Demonstrating Safe operation of equipment to rental customers based on policy and procedures.
• Professional interaction with our customers and co-workers.
• Operating outdoor power and small equipment (Mowers, blowers, skid steers etc.).
• Checking in and/or returning repaired Customer Equipment.
• Checking, cleaning (Pressure washing), inspecting, maintaining rental equipment.
• Cleaning and Organizing the rental yard and storage areas. (Sweeping, snow removal etc.).
• Occasionally assist the shipping department with deliveries to homes and jobsites.
• Assisting repair shop personnel with various duties.
