This Equipment Asset Integration/Systems focused role supports the Fabrication Division and spans Associate to Senior levels.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering or related field; manufacturing engineering technology, chemistry, physics, math, data science, or computer science acceptable.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve equipment for the Production System.
  • Evaluate requirements and design equipment concepts and solutions.
  • Analyze technical data affecting design, usability, and rate estimates.
  • Ensure safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop bid and purchase specs for equipment; coordinate with suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability.
  • Create workarounds and manage hardware/documentation configuration.
  • Study assets and recommend disposition when needed.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Equipment Engineers to join our Production Engineering organization in Portland, OR. This Equipment Asset Integration/Systems focused position will support exciting new endeavors in the Fabrication Division. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior engineers.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities
  • This is an equipment development, implementation, and improvement role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
  • Evaluate program and project requirements, develop complex equipment concepts and design solutions for the Production System.
  • Compile and analyze technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design, usability, and rate estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and release bid and purchase specifications for equipment needs from suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot current production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability.
  • Develop and implement workarounds and maintain configuration of hardware and documentation.
  • Perform studies and make recommendations for disposition of assets.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2 or more years’ related engineering work experience
Preferred Skills
  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 or more years of project management experience supporting complex technical projects, evaluating/selecting equipment solutions, and assessing spare parts inventory in a production environment
  • 1 or more years of experience working with hardware, software, and documentation configuration management
  • 1 or more years of experience working to industry standards including compliance with hardware and safety codes
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate across teams
Pay Rate Range

65 - 70 USD hourly
