Job summary

A service equipment provider is seeking an Equipment and Service Technician in Milwaukee, WI. Responsibilities include installing and servicing vehicle lifts and dispensing equipment, providing exceptional customer service, and performing preventative maintenance. Responsibilities
  • The Equipment and Service Technician will install and service equipment such as vehicle lifts, fluid dispensing pumps, steel and poly liquid and lubricant plumbing and storage tanks, and other related equipment. This person will provide excellent customer service, respond to customer demand calls, and perform preventative maintenance on contracted and owned equipment, and perform installation projects.
  • Install and set up new equipment independently with minimal supervision or direction
  • Install air and fluid piping, pumps, tanks, and reels
  • Display mechanical aptitude to service and repair a variety of equipment
  • Drive to customer sites to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform required repairs, and answer customer questions
  • Ability to problem solve tough issues without a clear solution
  • Accurately log and report parts and inventory used to complete repairs
  • Interact with management and other personnel to analyze and correct any equipment performance issues
  • Follow specific preventative maintenance schedules
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on all machine components, replacing items as needed
  • Complete field service reports and close out work orders as necessary
  • Complete and submit daily/weekly online timecard and expense report
  • Responsibility of company service van being stocked and maintained
  • Participate in weekly tech meetings
  • Other duties as required
  • Be willing to travel with the possibility of staying overnights
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience And/or Training
  • Proven 2-5 years of field service experience
License/ Certification
  • Valid driver’s license, including the ability to obtain a Health Card
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Mechanical skills and aptitude
  • Construction / Trade experience pipefitting / electrical / plumbing / HVAC / Carpentry
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics and blueprints
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong customer service ability
Physical And Mental Demands
  • This position will take place predominantly in a field setting visiting customers, along with an office and warehouse environment
  • Ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds independently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to maneuver around a job site including small spaces in and around our equipment including continuous bending, kneeling, and stooping regularly
  • Perform work on ladders and lifts
Environmental Demands
  • While work is performed in an office and warehouse environment, the primary duties of this role require visiting many customer sites and locations and encountering varying work environments
  • The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate
