Job summary

Warfab LLC is seeking a seasoned fleet manager to own all company vehicles and heavy equipment across multiple states. You will establish maintenance standards, track asset costs, and decide on repairs or replacements while coordinating cross-country equipment moves with operations leadership.

This role requires at least five years of hands-on fleet leadership, knowledge of diesel machinery, DOT compliance, and proficiency with fleet software and telematics. Travel ~25% to Florida.

Qualifications

• Five or more years managing a mixed fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment for a contractor, mining operation, industrial services company, or similar field-intensive business.
• Hands-on technical understanding of diesel equipment, hydraulics, and heavy machinery.
• Proven work building a preventive maintenance program, not only administering one someone else built.
• Financial ability to model owning and operating cost, lifecycle cost, and repair versus replace, and to defend the recommendation to an executive team.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations for commercial vehicles and drivers.
• Comfort with fleet or maintenance management software, telematics, and Excel. Experience implementing a system from scratch is a strong advantage.
• Valid driver license and willingness to travel to job sites and to the Florida operation, roughly 25 percent.

Job description

Warfab is a heavy industrial contractor headquartered in Hallsville, Texas, with a second operating base in Lakeland, Florida. We provide field services, maintenance, fabrication, and parts to the mining, industrial, and energy markets. Our crews relocate and rebuild draglines and heavy mining equipment, run turnarounds and maintenance at industrial plants, and fabricate structural and pressure work out of two shop floors.

THE ROLE

This is a new position with full ownership of Warfab's equipment and rolling stock: service trucks, trailers, cranes, manlifts, forklifts, welding machines, and the heavy support equipment our crews run on job sites across multiple states. You will build the maintenance, cost, and replacement program and set the standards for how the company buys, runs, and retires equipment. The seat reports to the President and CEO and works daily with division operations leadership, the shop, and the Safety and DOT Director.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Fleet. Every licensed vehicle and trailer in the company. Titles, registrations, insurance schedules, fuel program, telematics, assignment, and disposal.
• Heavy and field equipment. Cranes, manlifts, forklifts, welding machines, air compressors, generators, pumps, and the specialty rigging and support equipment used on relocation and outage work.
• Preventive maintenance. Build and run the PM program. Set service intervals by hour meter and mileage, schedule the work through the shop and outside vendors, and hold the schedule.
• Asset records. One system of record for every asset: acquisition cost, in-service date, hours, service history, repair spend, and current location.
• Cost and capital. Track owning and operating cost per asset. Recommend repair versus replace. Build the annual capital replacement plan and support rental versus purchase decisions on project equipment.
• Rental management. Own the outside rental spend. Track what is on rent, where it is, and when it goes back.
• DOT and regulatory compliance. Work alongside the Safety and DOT Director on vehicle inspections, driver qualification files, and crane and lift equipment certifications.
• Vendors and warranty. Manage dealer, service, and parts relationships. Pursue warranty recovery on every eligible repair.
• Mobilization support. Make sure the right equipment is on the right job on the right day, including cross-country moves for dragline relocation work.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Base salary of $85,000 to $105,000 depending on experience, plus participation in the company incentive plan. Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
