Independence Equine & Small Animal Clinic in Texas is seeking an Experienced Equine Veterinary Technician to join our busy practice. You will assist veterinarians on farm calls and in-clinic procedures, support lameness exams, dentistry, surgery, and emergency care, and provide nursing care and client education.

Qualifications

• Experience with horses required.
• Strong restraint and safety skills.
• Knowledge of equine diseases, medications and treatments.
• Comfortable with IV catheter placement, injections and anesthesia support.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians on farm calls and in-clinic procedures.
• Support lameness exams, reproductive work, dentistry, surgery, and emergency care.
• Administer medications, vaccines, IV fluids, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Collect and run lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.).
• Provide nursing care and patient monitoring.
• Assist with radiographs, pre-purchase exams, and diagnostics.
• Handle and restrain horses safely and confidently.
• Communicate effectively with clients and educate on care.
• Maintain inventory, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Participate in daily barn care and hospitalized patient management.
