Green Chimneys is seeking an Equine Program Facilitator to implement after-school and weekend equine activities for children. The role combines horse care, groundwork, and relationship-based learning in a therapeutic farm setting, with emphasis on safety and positive youth development.
The facilitator will work under the Equine Program Manager, mentor students, maintain barn facilities, and participate in agency events.
The EquineProgram Facilitator will implement the educational aspects of the multi-facetedequine program for children mostly after school and occasionally on weekends.Must be able to conduct a diversetherapeutic/educational/recreational program that combines equine care,groundwork, worked based learning activities in a relationship basedtherapeutic environment. Is responsible for managing horses in a working barnand performs horse care, barn maintenance, and pasture care. As a member of thefarm team, the facilitator will participate in agency and farm special events.
Collegedegree preferred; High School Diploma with significant experience working withhorses required
Experienceworking with special needs children in a residential treatment setting ispreferred
PATHCertification or equivalent; will consider candidates with applicableexperience and either certification in progress or the ability to obtaincertification
ValidNY State Driver’s License and clean driving record with the ability to pulllivestock trailer.May train to pulltrailer if candidate meets all other job required credentials.
CPRcertification or the ability to become certified

Starting Salary: $17.00 per hour
This is a fulltime and benefit eligible role.
