Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a Veterinary Care Technician 3 for the Equine/Large Animal ICU. The role involves supporting clinicians in pain management, critical care, and anesthesia, with responsibilities in reception, treatment, surgical assistance, and monitoring of large animal patients.

Ideal candidates will be a Graduate of an accredited program and hold RVT certification, with 1 year of relevant experience (2-4 years preferred).

Qualifications

• Must be a Graduate of an accredited program in the clinical discipline.
• Must hold or be eligible for a veterinary technician license or certification.
• 1 year of relevant experience required; 2-4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct large animal care and assistance to clinicians and students.
• Assist with surgical procedures and patient monitoring.
• Instruct students in preparation of animals and equipment for procedures and care.
• Maintain patient records and communicate critical changes in patient status.
