Job summary

The Humane Society of Missouri's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO is hiring a flexible part-time Equine Care Specialist to help care for rescued horses and other farm animals.

Duties include feeding and watering, turning out horses, stalls and living quarters cleaning, welcoming visitors and volunteers, operating tractors safely, and following established care procedures.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with hours that include weekends and a flexible weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older with a valid driver’s license and horse handling experience.
• Flexible schedule with weekend hours required.
• Ability to work with rescued animals and visitors in a calm, safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water animals and ensure access to clean, fresh food.
• Turn out horses into pastures and monitor their well-being.
• Clean stalls and living quarters to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Interact with visitors and volunteers in a positive, courteous manner.
• Operate tractors or equipment safely with attachments as needed.
• Provide care following established feeding, sanitation and medical procedures.

Flexible Part-Time Equine Care Specialist.

Come help us take care of rescued horses and other farm animals! Duties include:

• Giving food and water
• Turning out horses into pastures
• Cleaning stalls and living quarters
• Interacting with visitors and volunteers in a positive and courteous manner
• Operating tractors or other equipment with various attachments in a safe and responsible manner
• Providing all animals with proper care and attention including adherence to established feeding, sanitation and medical procedures

Qualified candidates must be 18 or older, have a valid driver's license, previous horse handling experience, and a flexible schedule that will include weekend hours. Our flexible part-timers work as needed. The number of hours per week is open to your availability, and there may be some weeks when there aren't hours scheduled.

Starting pay is $17.00/hour.
