Job summary

Humane Society of Missouri's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO, is seeking a Weekend Equine Care Specialist to care for rescued horses and farm animals on Saturdays and Sundays. This outdoor role supports feeding, turnout, stalls, and visitor welcome, with safe operation of equipment and a focus on animal welfare.

Ideal candidates have horse-handling experience, a valid driver’s license, and a passion for outdoor work. Starting pay is $17/hour, with weekend hours and outdoor tasks expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Previous experience handling horses.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Feeding and providing water to animals.
• Turning out horses into pastures.
• Cleaning stalls and living areas.
• Welcoming visitors and volunteers with a positive, friendly attitude.
• Safely operating tractors and other equipment as needed.
• Ensuring proper care for all animals, following feeding, sanitation, and medical procedures.
