Job summary

Sewanee University is seeking a Barn Support role to assist with daily horse care and facility operations on our campus. The hourly position offers starting pay and direct supervision while performing feeding, watering, turnout, and stable maintenance.

You will assist with farm equipment, paddocks, arenas, and storage buildings; work weekends and holidays as needed; a valid driver's license and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related horse/farm experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily basic horse care: feeding, watering, and turning in/out.
• Maintain cleanliness of stalls, aisles, feed and storage areas.
• Assist with barn and facility maintenance (fences, paddocks, arenas, storage buildings).
• Assist with farm vehicle/machinery maintenance.
• Working weekends/holidays/overtime as needed.
