Job Description: Oracle EPM Architect / EPM Lead (Consulting)

Location: Hybrid, with travel to client sites (up to 50-75 %)

Employment Type: Contract

Experience: 10+ years in Oracle EPM / Hyperion, with at least 5 years in a lead or architect role

About the Role

We are looking for an Oracle EPM Architect to take ownership of our portfolio of active client engagements across EPBCS, FCCS, EDMCS, and GL balance integrations. This is a senior, client-facing consulting role. You will step into projects already underway, quickly assess where they stand, and lead them to successful delivery. You will be the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, from finance leadership to IT teams, and will travel to client sites to run workshops, guide design decisions, and keep delivery on track.

The right person is equally comfortable designing a consolidation rule set, presenting a status update to a CFO, and steadying a project that has fallen behind.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Transition

• Take over ongoing EPM implementations and support engagements, review current status, scope, risks, and open issues, and build a clear recovery or continuation plan where needed.
• Lead full-lifecycle delivery: requirements, design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
• Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, resourcing, and change requests across multiple concurrent engagements.
• Lead and mentor onshore and offshore consultants, reviewing their work and ensuring quality and consistency.

Client Management

• Serve as the trusted advisor and main point of contact for client stakeholders, including Finance, FP&A, Accounting, and IT leadership.
• Run discovery sessions, design workshops, steering committee meetings, and status reviews on site and remotely.
• Manage expectations, handle escalations, negotiate scope, and maintain strong long-term client relationships.
• Identify opportunities for follow-on work and contribute to proposals, estimates, and SOWs.
• Own the end-to-end solution design across Oracle EPM Cloud applications and make sure they work together as one integrated platform.
• EPBCS / PBCS: Design planning, budgeting, and forecasting models, including Financials, Workforce, Capex, and Projects modules, custom cubes, business rules, and Groovy scripting.
• FCCS: Design consolidation and close solutions covering intercompany eliminations, currency translation, ownership management, journals, and close task management.
• EDMCS: Architect master data and hierarchy governance, including request workflows, subscriptions, and synchronization with EPM and ERP applications.
• GL Balances and Integration: Design and oversee GL data loads from Oracle ERP Cloud, EBS, SAP, or other source systems using Data Management, Data Integration, and the EPM Integration Agent, including mappings, drill-through, and data validation and reconciliation.
• Automate processes with EPM Automate, REST APIs, and Pipelines.
• Define reporting using Financial Reports, Narrative Reporting, and Smart View.
• Set design standards, security models, and performance best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle EPM / Hyperion experience, with at least 3 full-lifecycle Oracle EPM Cloud implementations in a lead or architect role.
• Hands-on expertise in EPBCS and FCCS, and strong working knowledge of EDMCS.
• Proven experience integrating GL balances from ERP source systems into EPM applications.
• Solid understanding of finance processes: budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, consolidation, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage clients directly and lead projects independently, including taking over and stabilizing in-flight engagements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in front of senior finance executives.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle EPM Cloud certifications (Planning, Financial Consolidation and Close, or related).
• Experience with ARCS, TRCS, PCMCS, or Narrative Reporting.
• Groovy scripting and EPM REST API experience.
• Background in Big 4 or boutique Oracle consulting.
• CPA, CA, CMA, or finance/accounting degree.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
